As the end of the year quickly approaches, I want to take a moment to update you on our significant progress in establishing the Grameen Today program in Australia.

This year we made history by establishing Grameen Australia’s first fully operational branch in Broadmeadows, Victoria. Our work has included:

• Working alongside 135 women establishing their small businesses and building new pathways to financial independence
• Recruiting five Centre managers including bi-lingual staff who represent the diverse communities we serve
• Approving more than 98 loans totalling $420,000 to enable members to purchase essential equipment or services to support their businesses
• Engaging with 150 local stakeholders in Victoria and New South Wales to proactively create pathways to our program and partnerships to benefit members.

We will soon have some exciting news to share, further positioning Grameen to meet its ambitious goals over the next four years.
